Q1. Prepare a preliminary estimate of a building project with a total plinth area of all buildings of 1500 sq m. Given that-

i) Plinth area rate - Rs. 950.00 per sq m.

ii) Extra for special Architectural treatment- 1.5% of the building cost.

iii) Extra for Water supply and Sanitary Installations- 5% of the building cost

iv) Extra for internal installations- 14% of the building cost

v) Extra for services- 6% of the building cost

vi) Contingencies-3%

Vii) Supervision charges- 8%

 

Q2. Prepare a Preliminary estimate of a four storeyed office building having a carpet area of 2000 sq m for obtaining the administrative approval of the Government given the following data. It may be assumed that 30 percent of the built-up area will be taken up by the corridors verandahs lavatories, staircases, etc., and 10% of the built up area will be occupied by walls.

(i) Plinth area rate is- Rs. 1050.00 per sq m

ii) Extra due to deep foundation at site - 1% of building cost

iii) Extra for special Architectural treatment- 0.5% of building cost.

iv) Extra for water supply and Sanitary installations- 6% of building cost

v) Extra for Electric installations- 12.5% of building cost

vi) Extra for other services- 5% of building cost

vii) Contingencies-2.5%

vii) Supervision charges- 8%

 

Q3. Prepare a preliminary estimate of a multi storied office building having a carpet area of 1600 m². The circulation area is 30% of the building and 10%  is occupied by the wall area. The rate is $ 70 per m².The cost of electricity and sanitary installation is 10% of the building cost. External services are taken as 2% of building cost. Contingencies and supervision charge 4% and 5% of overall cost respectively.

Q4. Prepare a preliminary estimate of a building having a plinth area equal to 1600 square meters.

Given that

i. Plinth area rate= $ 200 per m²

ii. Extra for architectural work=  1 ½ % of building cost

iii. For electrical installation= 10% of building cost

iv. For water supply and sanitary installation= 5% of the overall cost

v. Contingencies and supervision charge 4% and 5% of overall cost respectively

Q5.  Find the preliminary estimate of the road having a length of 10 km. The width of the road is 8 m and the thickness is 0.2 m. The rate per km for the given road is 8,000$. Take 10 to 30 % of the overall cost for supervision and technical services

Q6. Prepare a preliminary estimate of a multi storied building having a carpet area of 2200 sq. m. 22% of the built up area will be taken up by corridors, veranda, staircase etc. and 14% of built -up area will be occupied by walls.
*Note:-Assume the plinth area rate Rs. 16,000/- per sq. m. and provide for water supply and sanitary fitting and electrical installation, contingencies and other services.

 

Q7. Prepare an approximate estimate of building project with total plinth area of all building is 80 sqm. and from following data.

Plinth area rate Rs. 40000 per sqm .

Cost of water supply @ 7½%of cost of building

Cost of Sanitary and Electrical installations each @ 7½% of cost of building

Cost of architectural features @1% of building cost.

Cost of roads and lawns @5% of building cost.

contingencies @ 4%

Determine the total cost of building project?

 

Q8. Prepare the rough estimate for a proposed commercial complex for a municipal corporation for the following data.

Plinth Area = 500m2 /floor

Ht. of each storey = 3.5m

No. of storey’s = G+2

Cubical content rate = Rs. 1000/m3

Provided for a following as a percentage of structured cost water supply & Sanitary arrangement-8% Electrification -6%

Fluctuation of rates - 5%

Contractors profit - 10%

Petty supervision & contingencies- 3%
